Zerbin – new single “Worlds On Fire” from “Darling” LP out April 14

Victoria BC/Edmonton AB band Zerbin is set to release their new full-length album Darling on April 14th through Fontana North.

Darling is self-produced by the band (Jason Zerbin, Peter Mol, Duran Ritz) and mixed by Dave Pensado (Michael Jackson, Beyonce), Tom Dobrzanski (Said the Whale, Hey Ocean!), and Jason himself.

And in what’s sure to give the album a little extra character, Darling was recorded over the course of six weeks in a one hundred-year-old house on Vancouver Island.

The first time I heard Zerbin, it was through their video for “In Your Arms.” I wasn’t crazy for it – but there was something in their sound I thought was pretty cool, and I knew the dude had a good voice.

When their 2013 EP Touch was released, THIS is when I became a Zerbin fan. The gorgeous “Lift” kept me coming back, the upbeat “Take Your Heart,” with it’s super fun video, and the catchy stuck-in-your-head-for-days “New Earth“… basically, this whole album had me hooked. I was dying for more music from Zerbin.

Needless to say, I was pretty stoked to hear the new lead single, “World’s on Fire“, which tells the story of two young lovers during the apocalypse. (You can give it a listen at the bottom of this post)

I missed out on the opportunity to see them live last year when one of their Ontario dates had to be cancelled because Jason had lost his voice. So I’m hoping they will swing through my neck of the woods again as they hit the road following up the new album’s release. They are planning on touring the U.S. throughout Spring, Fall, and Summer and those dates will be announced in a couple of months.
