Jabberjaw Media officially launches today

Jabberjaw Media is a brand new music-focused podcast network founded by Matt Carter (Emery, The BadChristian Podcast), Nick Bunda (BadChristian Producer), and Mike Mowery (Outerloop Management).

The trio formed the network after seeing that there was a need for podcasts to collectively strategize and find ways to build stronger audiences through cross-promotion and shared resources. They collaborated to create a music-centric podcast network enabling direct communication between artists and their audience without the influence of media conglomerates or other gatekeepers. The artist-friendly network will work with its shows and creators to produce and innovate in the podcasting medium, encouraging free expression of thoughts, ideas, and beliefs. Jabberjaw Media intends to aggregate present podcasts and help them thrive while also seeking to produce and develop new talent within independent music and beyond.

Jabberjaw Media has currently developed and launched two brand new shows, Lead Singer Syndrome with Shane Told (of Silverstein) and The Art Collective with Stephen Christian (formerly of Anberlin). Shane Told’s brand-new podcast features interviews with other prominent front men and women within the music industry. Interviews are recorded in back stages, green rooms, and back lounges of tour busses. In sharp contrast, The Art Collective with Stephen Christian delivers interviews that focus on music and literature, in an attempt to understand how the two art forms influence each other.

Podcasts like The BadChristian Podcast (members of Emery) have successfully found a way to create and monetize massive and loyal audiences that consume and download over 50,000 episodes per week, attracting other artists and shows to adopt the model and work together. The music industry quickly offered its vote of confidence, as Jabberjaw Media was able to raise funding and secure title sponsorships with Sound Rink and KingsRoad for today’s public launch of the network.
